The MSBA was honored to host the 30th Annual Conference of the National Consortium on Racial and Ethnic Fairness in the Courts last month. The conference theme, Equal Justice for All: A Work in Progress, reflected the ongoing efforts that courts and legal communities throughout the nation have made in striving to achieve equity and justice for all. The conference sessions addressed critical issues such as the effect of federal immigration policy, bail reform, the use of grand juries in officer involved shootings, and Tribal Law policies. Recent events have made the Twin Cities an epicenter of the discussion around racial and ethnic fairness in the courts, the fight for civil rights, and the examination and expansion of equal protection under the law. The MSBA was honored to host this national meeting of key leaders, decision-makers, and influencers on the critical issue of racial and ethnic fairness at all levels of our legal system.
