The MSBA Criminal Law Section will once again hold its annual seminar, “Everything BUT the Trial School,” on March 30. This year our focus is on providing accurate and meaningful advice under the difficult conditions of the implied consent call; conducting an initial consultation that serves the client as well as it sells services; and how to craft and present well-structured and effective sentencing arguments. But this year’s program focuses on one particular fact pattern that will be used to conduct a complete Rasmussen Hearing with a judge, prosecutor, defense attorney and police officer—who will bring decades of experience and insights that might help you win your next contested hearing. The same fact pattern will be used at our annual trial school later in the spring to provide an in-depth study of the life of a single case. This half-day seminar is being offered by webcast this year in an effort to reach more attendees who can’t make it to Minneapolis. You can register online at www.mnbar.org/cle-events.
