Judges Online

According to a survey conducted by court public information officers, in 2010 40 percent of state court judges were using social media profile sites, with the majority of them on Facebook. One can only speculate how active Minnesota judges may be on social media today, but MSBA’s Civil Litigation Section offers online profiles of participating judges for review by attorneys at its “Judicial Practice Guide” site, http://www.mnbar.org/sections/civil-litigation/judicial-survey/  Included are profiles of judges in each of Minnesota’s ten judicial districts, together with information about the judges’ expectations and history handling motion practice, discovery disputes, pretrial procedures, voir dire, and attorney sanctions, among other issues.  The Section also offers a recently updated manual of Minnesota statutes of limitations, which is available for purchase in print or CD format.
